Hi Guys, its year 2009 and we all love classic, but technology go forward. Before you start to make any game art, pls decide what resolution and platforms you wanna make it for. You shouldnt get lower than 800x600 and higher than 1920x1080. Old style like pixel art is nice to play in the window but not on the full screen. Even MISE is HD, more like mix both I am not sure If you wanna make a remake of original Loom or next part of it, but both should be hires.

Hi Patrik, I'm Abisso, the coder of the project. I took a tour on your webpage and seen your art... well, you have the right to speak about hi-res, since you're really good at it. I liked a lot your remake of Monkey Island's remake, much better than what the big company did. And also all the other 3d art is pretty nice. But the thing I liked most is the "painting" though! Maybe it's just me, but I can't really accept a 3d adventure game. I'm too connected to the old style, the old school. But as long as it is 2D, I also like higher resolutions (like the one of your "painting"). I may be speaking for myself alone, but I think this project should be aimed at the old fans and fill the gap left by the deletion of the two Loom sequels already planned in the early nineties. By the way, we're planning (and we started) doing it in 320x200, probably 16-bit color. And it's going to be a sequel, of course: forgedemo.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1And if you want to take a look at the art (there's a lot more, actually, the topic is a bit old): forgedemo.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=28Thanks for your interest Patrik: we'll discuss your suggestion with the other team-members, and see what they think too. By the way, should I consider your post as an offer for a help in the art section? Hope to hear news from you on the boards!

...hi... I definitely like the style and animations you made so far, I am big fan of pixel art, but the resolution is too small for this age. I am pretty busy on other game, but what I can do for you guys is to make some BG from your concepts in 3d, with cartoonist look, something like you could see on my blog (MI:SE) and then painters will repaint it digitally to make it look like cartoon paintings. I love Bill Tiller's painted BG, I was working on his Vampire Story 2, but you need somebody very good to make it look like that. 3d version is gonna help you with prespective, lights etc.. and can be repainted later to make it richer and more detailed. I wouldn't make any 3d characters, I dont like that. You should paint them all in PS as MI:SE was made, just in larger resolution with more details. Of course, It takes some time, but the result will be much better. The other thing is, if you look at Indiana Jones - FOY, it has been in process forever! and its not done yet, this is because the managing people is very bad. They will give you a work, and never contact you anymore. They will not send you email like: How far are you with your BG? How is it going? not at all.. then people wont work.

Thanks Patrik, as I've said before, we'll discuss this opportunity with the other team members. It seems like you know the FOY team really well, from what you said... I suppose you've been an artist for them, then. From the looks of it, I think FOY is a great project, and with a very fine artist too. The demo is great and everything is in the old style while also renewed and original in a lot of ways. But yes, it's taking forever: I hope we'll do better. By the way, we're trying to have a relation of friendship and esteem with all the team-members, rather than considering them just workers. I just hope your FOY example wasn't an attempt to demonstrate the inferiority of 2d above 3d though!

We are definitely looking for artists in the pixel art style. But alas, we have no intention of modernizing the style to anything higher res or HD But thanks for your suggestion.
